AN: this is the work of one friend twisting my rubber arm into RPing Mighty Ducks.

Christine sighed as she bent down to pick up a helmet off the ground. Seriously, she was getting more then a little tired of having to pick up after them. She was their medic - granted, only because she had been hired to help with their cover, but still *medic* not glorified babysitter slash housekeeper. She took a steadying breath, walked over as quietly as possible and not so gently dropped the helmet on his lap. "Nosedive," she began slowly. "I swear to whoever's listening, I'm a medic, not your housekeeper or babysitter. When you finish practice, put your thrice damn gear away, I do not appreciate tripping over your hockey gear."
Nosedive glanced up at the medic from his spot on the sofa. "Hey, I'm not the only one," he protested. "sides," he said, looking closely at the helmet. "This is Duke's."
Christine gave him a blank stare. "You're missing the point," she said. "I. Am. A. Medic. Not. A. Housekeeper!" she bit out. She let out an exasperated sigh and sunk down onto the sofa next to him. "And, I'll yell at Duke later," she said, by way of an apology.
Nosedive reached over and ruffled the human's hair, chuckling slightly at her miffed expression. "So, how are things between you and Oh Fearless Leader?" he asked.
Christine pulled a face. "Did you really have to ask me?" she sulked. "I have better luck trying to figure out Grin's koans then I do understanding what goes on in your brother's head."
Nosedive chuckled. "I think you're the one of the only ones who even tries to understand those things."
"Lucky me," she deadpanned. Her gaze drifted to the TV and she smothered a groan. Of course, hockey. Why would she suspect anything different given their obsession with the damn sport (homeworld influence not withstanding). She glanced to see who was entering. "Ah, Duke, just the duck I wanted to see," she said, reaching over to take the helmet and tossed it at his chest. "I'll tell you what I told Nosedive. Pick up after yourself! I'm your medic, not your housekeeper."
"But of course," Duke said, sketching a slight bow, feeling the need to tease the medic. "So, how are things between..." he started to ask before getting a pillow to his head. "What I say?" he asked after taking the blow.
"Are all of you going to ask me what's going on between WildWing and myself?" she grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest. "And in answer to your question, nothing. Nothing is going on," she said. "He's too aloof to even notice that I may want to move past the friendzone." She sighed and settled back to watch the game, trying to distract herself from the conversation. Oh, it had switched at some point to.. Her left eyebrow arched as high as it could go. Figure skating? She wordlessly glanced over to see that Nosedive and Duke had made themselves scarce. So, who? Her blue eyes widened to see that WildWing had taken Nosedive's spot on the couch and was watching the TV intently. "Trying to learn new moves?" she asked, confusion clear in her voice.
WildWing glanced over and gave a wry smile. "Somehow, I don't think those butterfly," he paused, trying to recall the term and failed, "things would help."
"Butterfly spin," she said absently. "And probably not." She glanced at the screen again, trying to recall why that looked so damn familiar - and then it hit her and she sunk down on the sofa, silently praying he hadn't.
"You never said you skated," he said quietly, glancing at her. She was cute - for a human. But, he couldn't afford a relationship right now, could he? He mentally shook himself and tried to return to being aloof. It'd hurt less - for both of them, especially if they ever got home. Besides, what could he give her? Other then putting her into Dragaunus's line of attention and he would not, could not do that to her.
"You never asked," she retorted. Sighing to herself, she quietly scooted over and curled up close.
WildWing blinked but wrapped an arm around her anyway.
