What I have learned so far today...

Jul 15, 2006 19:32

I did not start today off with the best circumstances....

I did not actually sleep at all last night, which is not too unusual. I have to force myself to go to sleep at all so when there is a NEED to stay awake...well I do what I gotta do.

0:00 to 4:00 - Played on WWW ;p
4:00 to 4:30 - Argued with Adoptive Stepmother. End result = She said she loved me while crying and hung up. I hate when she does this to me...which she has done all my life. Man is she good at it!
4:30 to about 9:45 - Tried to prep house for Father's arrival. This was meant to be his first home visit. (Experiment: Was it even possible to get him to be comfortable in his home now that I lived there. More importantly for the first time in his life he is looking at actually depending on me....).
10:00 - 18:15 - DUDE! My father is HIGH Maintenance...and you thought I was bad....
I did a lot of multi-tasking. It felt like I was working at home, taking care of my father, making sure his dog adjusted to him being back, tried to get everyone fed. Managed to take about a two hour nap with Fred's (Dad)lower back supported on my left side (Laying on side so he was actually supported by the front of both of my thighs. He was sitting on the edge of the bed so that he could watch TV while I tried to nap. Squirrel (HIS dog) slept peacefully snuggled behind my knees. The TV was loud (I think my dad may have hearing problems) and the next thing I new time had passed, I felt better, and it was time to start moving again. (By 6:15pm PST, I was the ONLY ONE who didn't eat...ooops.). I got his clothes washed, dried, folded and back in his suitcase. I was able to finally talk him into taking his special toothbrush and Gum care machine back to Marian Extended Care with him along with his favorite tooth paste. I also managed to get my Grandma Kendrick on the phone several times and tried to fax her a document several times only to find out that she didn't have long distance. Hence 18 attempts, 7 different programed fax requests and no fax because SHE doesn't have long distance.

Who said ignorance was bliss? I completely disagree...

It is now approx. 19:45 and I am off to eat dinner...

Dude what a day. And yes I took my pills on time today, like I have been doing. Damn this being an adult is trying and frustrating...especially with Fred as the one needing aid.

He loves to side seat drive even though he signed the Toyota Pickup Truck over to me for $2.00 yesterday. I insured it yesterday, in fact the only thing I didn't do today was drive up to SLO in order to be able to register the car in my name. Guess that will have to wait until Monday morning....

Ummm...DUDE!
