Somewhere in the forest on some other planet at some point in time and space
After being relieved from her post on watch Pippi crawled into the little foliage covered hole that she'd dug for herself between the roots of a great tree.
She tossed her gear to the side and flopped down on the blanket covered pile of pine needles and leaves that served as her bed.
There was no pillow for her to put her feet on.
It was a well camouflaged little home, mostly dry when it rained, cool in the daytime and warm...'ish at night.
The others had scoffed at her while she was building it, generally they slept under the stars, but most of them later came to her for advice or help making their own shelters.
It was getting colder at night, they were going to have to raid for blankets and jackets soon...
It had been quite warm when she first arrived. How long had she been here?
That was hard to say.
Pippi sighed thoughtfully and closed her eyes, drifting off to sleep.
