Discouraging (maybe challenging)...and lazy

Despite the training we go through in our profession, some (if not many) think they can do what we can do. At often times they think they can do it better. Professionals in the medical or law field get that degree of respect. From my recent experience, the engineers as well. Laymen trust their evaluations, their suggestions, their directives.
I dunno. Is it just me or are we no longer seen as experts?
