HAPPY LIFE, lovers.
im pretty sure this will be the last post of this beautiful year. so much has happened, so many peoples were met, and the music was probably the best ever.
**i travelled to different cities, with amazing friends, i saw hundreads of great shows, i was crammed into a small van for eight beautiful days, i got to pretend i was a rock star (without playing an insturment) and hang out with my teenage idols.
**street team lovers; represent. i've found a group of individuals that surround my life and fit so appropriatly, its amazing. its like having a new family that you can get drunk with till 6 in the morning blabbing on about how life is so the life.
**me and evan became big kids and moved out on our own. it's an amazing freedom that just can't be described until you're running the streets in your underwear or lighting those underwears on fire and throwing them off your balcony
**all my little friends who play insturments have created bands that are really good; A Legend Falls, the architects, the fully down and Crush Buildings. im so happy to have my finger on a part of all that is stirring amongst this small ottawa scene. it makes me happy to see all those who have worked so hard to get what they want are actually finally scratching that surface
**made many trips to toronto with one rendez-vous to montreal. toronto is always so hip and happenin', shows happening everyday, things to do, people to see, people to meet, basically its ALIVE, and i love it.
** "and she was something else. a few summers ago, we spent weeks in her room just having sex and listening to jazz. and that was the life" - minus the bear. so many great shows were had this year, i unfortunatly missed out on this show and i really regret it (also the good life in montreal). but, there were many great shows i did attend.
-the pixies - as if i got to see them play. what a dream come true, best concert ever.
-the faint/tv on the radio/ the beep beep - super fun mega dance party ... need i say more?
-warped tour 2004 x8 - punk rock summer camp with an all access pass.
-ottawas version of lollapaloza ... sonic youth/wilco/modest mouse - what a great couple of days
-arcade fire/hi lo trons - id never heard either of these bands only heard of, what a way to go.
-locust/dillenger escape plan/ your enemies friends - great hardcore/punk/whatever
-interpol - love
-explosions in the sky/adem - holy moly.
-tortoise/four tet - Lollyy
-beasty boys/talib kweli - whatever
-sparta/sunshine/further seems forever - perfect mix of super awesome and super raunchy
-sixtoo/blockhead/dj signify - all star line up, hip hop and you don't stop.
there were so many great bands that got heard this year. bands new and old ... basically music is the best things humans have created.
i guess i could mention a few other things, however we could also be here all day.
i've got a few plans for resolutions in the coming year, so hopefully they'll get thrown down. :)
