(no subject)
My secret_mutant fic is up and my recipient likes it. Success! \o/ I suppose I'll do that thing where if you guess what it is, I'll write you something. Or you can just give me some sort of prompt anyway, and I might be inspired, who knows?
I watched the latest Sherlock the other day. I mostly liked it. I loved that Irene was a professional dominatrix. I think it's a nice extension of what she did in the original story.
Other things to love:
- the whole scene in the palace with the sheet
- Mycroft and Sherlock's sniping
- Sherlock being unable to read Irene
- everything about Mrs. Hudson
- Sherlock panicking when the CIA guy is about to kill John
- everything John does
- Sherlock beating up the CIA guy for hurting Mrs. Hudson
- the fact that Irene didn't die (I admit, I totally thought she was actually dead.)
Things to not love:
- the fact that Irene is in love with Sherlock. I mean, I could see that she was interested in him, or intrigued by him, but did it really have to be love? Ugh. It's okay to just have her win, with no takebacks or mitigating factors.
- the whole thing with Molly. Can we just have her be over Sherlock already? It's nice that he apologized, but really, he shouldn't have gone on that whole spiel in the first place. Also, Lestrade/Molly anyone?
So, overall, I thought it was great! I'm gonna watch it again and enjoy it, and I can't wait for next episode. I know Hound is done to death, but I still love it, and I can't wait to see Mark Gatiss' take on it.
