I. Last night I finished the first book in a long time. It was Agatha's Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, and it was in Romanian. Usually I think reading books in their original language is better, but the translation was pretty well done. I haven't finished a book for fun in ages and ages, so it felt good. Plus, it was an interesting story, although Poirot's deductions were iffy. I find that's a common trope in detective stories from around that time. Seriously, making a psychological profile of someone based on their nationality? Yeah, sure.
My next book to (re)read is The Hobbit.
II. Still on my re-watch of The West Wing with my brother. He is totally addicted. :D And the question that strikes me in almost every episode is: do these people get any sleep? And I realized why the first two season are my favorite: they deal mostly with domestic issues. Whenever foreign policy comes in, as it does in season 3 and onwards, I find myself disagreeing a lot more with the characters.
III. On my recent flight over the ocean, I listened to BBC's Cabin Pressure, and it's awesome and hilarious. I love comedy! I need more comedy in my life, for real.
IV. A meme. Give me a pairing and I will tell you:
1. What they most commonly do during sex
2. Who has prettier hair
3. What they argue about most often
4. Who'd cope best if the other one died
5. The happiest plausible happily-ever-after I can think of for them.
