So, I'll be missing everyone in Chicago, which makes me sad, but I might be able to pull off Dragon Con.
1. I'll only have to take 1 day off to do it: Since USA Today doesn't print on Labor Day, I get the day prior off... which is Sunday. AND, since I'll be in Atlanta and won't have to worry about connecting flights, I can leave Monday morning and still make it to work on time Monday night.
2. Although the host hotels are full, it appears that the (cheaper) overflow hotels might still have rooms and may only be a block away.
3. Paul McGillion is going to be there: Which means if I want to give him the McKay/Beckett headbutt cartoon, I should probably get cracking on it. Also, y'all think it would be too forward of me to ask for a hug if there's nobody in his signing queue? I hear he gives good hug and I'd really like to find out for myself.
4. A whole bunch of other guests are going to be there: In years past I focused my attention on the Pern/McCaffery track but I want to see the Mythbusters and the Ghost Hunters and Terry Moore who does the Strangers In Paradise comic and... and... god it's gonna be HUGE!
5. No other real reason to go other than I haven't been in over 10 years and, while I'm not fond of going alone, I would like to go back.
Again, I probably shouldn't do this, may not do this, especially since I do have a ticket to P3..... but I'm feeling a bit rebellious at the moment. Or maybe that's just me being hungry....
