I finally received a letter back from the Mage's Association? I sent that letter to them in August, it certainly took them a long time to-

Wait, I have a letter from the Mage's Association....Someone give me courage to open this. Aside from the concerns over whether or not it could explode, I'm really not certain what it's going to say. They ( Read more... )

...why on earth would you have written the Association?

We've had trouble with each other in the past, I wanted to clear things up. They also have a fair amount of interest in the fact that the Holy Grail used to be under my temple and left some residue, and the fact that strange things tend to happen in my area due to my computer being an artifact of Magic.

Besides, I know that they exist and they know I know they exist. I don't like leaving these things alone.

I see. What was it you said to them? I don't know much of the Association past experience with my Master himself, but...

['I don't have a good impression of them from him' was left unsaid.]

Let's see. Please don't try to kill me or anyone under my protection again, that was in there along with the standard mentions that if it worked it would make them much worse off. I'm willing to work with them on serious matters, but for the most part I would rather that Fuyuki be left alone to its devices under the supervision of myself and the second owner, and I will take full responsibility if anything leaves Fuyuki to have a greater impact.

I said a lot of things. It was a fairly hefty letter.

Reasonable requests. However I worry 'reasonable' may not be a quality common among the Mage's Association.

[After clicking on the video, Issei unfolds the envelope and pulls out the letter, which is about as dignified as you'd expect from the Mage's Association. He runs his finger over the text, mouthing a few words here and there, and his expression turns more and more incredulous as he gets further on.]

...they actually, truly...?

They agreed to practically everything.

...has the Association become staffed with unbelievably agreeable people since the fourth war?

I have bargaining chips, but still! They agreed, they actually agreed!

If I could be pessimistic for just a moment, is it truly so simple? Is there any proof that their words are complete honesty?

[Not much of a fan of mages after some mild unpleasantness, Lancer?]

[Just you wait a couple more volumes.]

No, there's not. I can't be sure that they're completely being truthful, but I have hope. I might be able to keep my city safe from the machinations of magi.

For your sake and that of Fuyuki, I hope I'm wrong.
