Thank you for the gifts, everyone except Greed.

...Marquis de Sade? Really? I don't know if I should burn this or if that's disrespecting books, but the contents...

((As a reminder, Issei got his friends flowers for Christmas. And some chocolate for his beloved Kid.))

I tried to convince him that you wouldn't like that sort of thing...

Thank you, Naoto. From the bottom of my heart, I appreciate your efforts.

Greed is rather implacable, isn't he? No matter what sort of argument I came up with to try and dissuade him, he would simple refute it with any number of counterpoints. Honestly, his stubbornness rivals that of Ed's!

I know. Dealing with him is nearly impossible.

And you've known him for longer than I have...

In any case, I hope you enjoyed my gift. I certainly appreciated yours! The room looks quite lovely with fresh flowers like these. I can't wait to plant them come spring.

Unfortunately.

Thank you very much for the book! It's quite engrossing for me, and I'm sure I'll enjoy reading it further.

He teases you worse than me, doesn't he?

I thought you might like to try your hand at raising something a little more exotic, you know? Tropical flowers always come in such vivid colors!

It's worse for me because he has something he can use against me.

Hopefully they'll grow in Fuyuki... it doesn't exactly have a tropical climate.

...Oh my. The only thing he can use against me is my family, but Homunculi seem to be terrible kidnappers.

Well, the book says it shows you what species can be the most adaptable for non-tropical climates. The intent is to allow even the novice gardener to cultivate tropical flowers.

For me, it's his voice. I should be more concerned about you, perhaps.

I see. It's an incredibly thoughtful gift!

Wh-Why do you say that...? [He should be concerned. Very concerned.]

Thank you. I do try to put a lot of thought into my gifts. I just hope that it will prove useful to you in the near future.

For you, he can threaten actual people to get what he wants. For me, all he has to do is speak in a certain tone of voice or say certain things - no one gets hurt in the process.

I'm sure it will.

...W-Well, he's a failure when it comes to kidnapping, you know? So, I don't think you have to worry too much about my safety.

You should take some pictures of your garden once spring arrives. I want to see how everything turns out.

You're saying such to a worrywart.

I think I will, once there's anything to look at.
