Last night I had a dream wherein Dean Winchester had sex with Dr. Torres from Grey's Anatomy, and Sam was a large turtle. WTF, brain?
Yesterday, my dad and I went to see The Fountain, and wow, was it ever bad.
Like, really bad. The first ten minutes, I was very, "WTF? WTFWTFWTF?" And then about halfway through the movie, I thought, "interesting idea, but kind of poorly executed." And then for the last ten minutes, I had moved on to, "interesting idea, HORRIBLY executed." Seriously. SO bad. Bad in the way where now I feel bad for Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weiss, who have to promote it. I feel sure they didn't know it was going to turn out like that. Like, if you pulled it all apart, and got rid of all the bizarre New Age-y/Buddhist stuff, and put it back together in a linear fashion to make an actual straightforward story, then it would have been okay. But the way it is? Craaaaaaapola.
Here, have some songs. All Sendspace links:
[
Weird Al Yankovic - Yoda ]
I know Darth Vader's really got you annoyed
but remember if you kill him then you'll be unemployed
Because I love The Kinks' 'Lola', and yet every time it comes up on my iPod, my brain automatically fills in the Weird Al lyrics instead.
[
*NSYNC - It Makes Me Ill ]
girl, I know that we broke up
but that doesn't mean you should give the cold shoulder
My iPod is having some sort of love affair with this song - it pops up just about every day, and every time I give a happy sigh and remember all the joy that the NSA album brought to me. Oh, *NSYNC.
[
All-American Rejects - My Paper Heart ]
the leaves fall down
and so do I, into the arms of a friend
I really love this song so much. I'm almost ready to succumb and admit full-fledged love for AAR. They are such wonderful poppy goodness! I had some reservations, because I only know five of their songs, and I really liked four, but I really didn't like the other one, but then
offonmars set me straight and told me that the song I don't like isn't even by them! Joy!
[
Joel Plaskett - Nowhere With You ]
hey good looking, why the frown? you always look better when it's upside down
you say you got nowhere that you're going to, can I go nowhere with you?
Canadians who are not already familiar with this song may recognize it from a recent Zellers commercial. This is also wonderful poppy goodness! There are "na na na"s! It is catchy and happy and great!
[
The Who - Baba O'Riley ]
I don't need to fight to prove I'm right
I don't need to be forgiven
Because I wanted to have five songs, and Roger Daltry was pretty kickass on this week's CSI. Plus, it's a classic!
