Well I finally made it back to my own house on yesterday. Did I
mention that Amy and Bishop live on a street off Dyers Pass Road, which
of course happened to be closed on Monday. We ventured out in the
car because we needed to fill the gas bottle for the heater among other
things and the trip down Dyers Pass road was mostly fine until we got
about 4 metres from the round-a-bout at the bottom and the car started
to slide sideways. Amy put it gently into a bank of snow to stop
the slide and Bishop jumped out and pushed it back onto the road.
Attempt number 2 saw the car slide some more and get itself caught on
the island between the straight road and the left turning road.
Again it was freed and we went on our merry way to fill the gas bottle
and get a few supplies.
The gas station attendant relayed the info that they weren't letting
anything back up the hill unless they were 4 wheel drive but after the
little episode coming down the hill, I don't think Amy would have
wanted to drive up there again until the road was clear and totally
safe, even if she had a 4 wheel drive. So it was decided that the
best plan of attack was to pack the car at the cafe on the corner and
walk up the hill. Fun and games. Bishop the poor bugger had
to carry the full gas bottle, I sympathised as I have actually had to
do the same thing in the past, except it wasn't as far and not up hill,
but I was a weak girl and was sick.
Spent the rest of the day schmoozing and playing playstation.
Calum gave me a ring that night and I had to be amused by the fact that
I was freezing my arse off and here he was in a place where the
temperature is in the 30s. Lucky.
Hung out some more on Tuesday and then managed to find my way home but
not until me and Bishop went and got our photo's taken for the Uni
advertising campaign. It's money after all so I thought I would
give it a go. Dunno about my chances but Bishop's might be good
so I'll keep my fingers crossed.
As for the rest of the week, the opening night of Millie is drawing
close so full dress and tech rehearsals will fill my nights. I
think I'll still be able to go to the Madcaps but will probably be late
as we have a show at 7pm. I also have an essay due in on the 30th
so that will also be keeping me super busy.
