Pratt sucks part II:
Maybe it's because I haven't really let off steam about this in the 2.5 years that I have been in grad school...but for some reason this semester is the worst in terms of administrative bullshit. I received a postcard from my lovely institution of higher education indicating that I have not "accepted" my student loans. Well, I did "accept" about a month ago. I finally heard back from my useless financial aid person who told me that the Feds decided that I make too much money to qualify for subsidized Stafford loan. OOoooohhhh, right, I make too much money making less than I did as an administrative assistant! Ha! Sooo, I can only accept unsubsidized loans this semester. No one bothered to tell me this, before and after I accepted my loans a month ago.
Do students in other schools spend hours each week sorting out mistakes that various departments at their schools have made? How an I supposed to do my homework when I am spending all evening trying to piece together information that doesn't match or make sense? Come January 1, I am going to write a reeaally nasty letter to dear old Pratt telling them that I would never in a million years recommend anyone to go there. Fuckers.
