saturdays are always good because after class i am reunited with my kid after her time over at her dad's. i am done with work and school for a few days. we read all the new books i've collected, we dance and cook, there are occasionally pedicures. the kid watches a movie and i take a nap, using her belly as a pillow. sunday mornings usually involve some sort of vehicle for syrup. hey! ho! SYRUP! i always start to feel human again on these lovely days.
best reference desk interaction this week: a very serious kid needed some books about dragons, "but not fiction. i need real information." needless to say, i was stoked to help, and when his mom said "honey, dragons aren't real" i wanted to slap her.
worst: the woman who tried to pick a fight with me about the dewey decimal system's classification of meditation materials. not really my concern.
i am almost done with this internship and will be sorry on many levels to leave it.
the cherry blossoms are out and smelling perfect. this never fails to make me TOTALLY EMO OMG.
