From: Richard Blatchly, KSC Chemistry Department Chair
Joe:
On behalf of the Chemistry Department, I wanted to offer you congratulations. It's terrific news that the Chemistry Lyceum has been granted Honorable Mention status by the ACS. It's the result of lots of hard work organizing yourselves into a coherent whole, organizing Chemistry-related activities, and reporting your activities to the ACS.
I have noticed a definite sense of pride coming from your group even before the award was announced--this should really put the icing on the cake. This is a well-deserved honor.
Thanks for all your efforts and direction on behalf of Chemistry at KSC!
Rich Blatchly
This letter was generated due to news received from th ACS a few hours earler:
On behalf of the Society Committee on Education, it is my pleasure to
inform you that your chapter has received an Honorable Mention Chapter
Award for its 2007-2008 activities as reported in "Keene State College
2007-08". More formal correspondence about this award will be sent via
US mail.
Each report was reviewed by three faculty advisors, who provided
feedback to consider when planning future activities. Their comments
are summarized below.
The 2007-08 award winning chapters will be recognized in the
November/December issue of "in Chemistry" magazine and at the ACS
Student Affiliates Chapter Award Ceremony that will be held at the 237th
ACS National Meeting in Salt Lake City. We hope that representatives
from your chapter will be able to attend the ceremony, where plaques
will be presented.
Congratulations,
Nancy Bakowski

This is really exciting. Like, unbelieveably.
