Snow... goddamn it.

So, because Wayne State apparentley never cancels classes, I had to trek/drive through the treacherous streets to get to school this morning at 8:30. Thankfully my professor showed up, so me and the six other people who bothered coming to class got credit ( Read more... )

Even when it's 20 below and forty mile an hour winds they don't cancel class here... bastards.

Michigan never closes either. My mom was just telling me that Wayne State never used to have snow days as a way of comforting me, since she is sitting at home all warm and cozy and NOT in the snow.

There's something really backwards about the whole thing.

You know though- I can kind of understand Michigan not closing though since it is a "normal" college, and everyone lives relatively nearby, as where Wayne is mostly a commuter school. The only time I havent had class is when the power in Old Main (where all my classes are) was out- it's a little rediculous.

Well, Ohioans see snow and start to panic. So, we only have about four inches of snow, but they just don't know how to deal with it. I'm just laughing inside and enjoying my snow day and remembering all those times that AAW didn't close and I drove hours through the snow to get to school. Hee.

That's what you get for going to the U.P.- you could just settle for 3 feet, and maybe 5 below- but nooo, you had to go even more north :P

Damn you! It's not even like you guys have to drive to get to school- most people live in dorms dont they?

Yes. We live in dorms. But have to walk for fifteen minutes to get to class in the snow and extreme cold.

When I have to walk across campus with three classes worth of textbooks in weather that could give me frostbite, and then slip on the ice and almost break my computer, I figure I have some right to complain. Maybe just a little.
