Its been awhile since the last update. It feels like no time at all- time just sort of blurrs together since I've started my job. The only days that mean anything to me are Mondays (booooo!) and Fridays (yay!!!!) I kind of like the job itself. I'm basically a medical assistant, I check patients into clinics, get their vitals, go over medications, sometimes do an EKG or a bladder scan if I'm lucky. It's freaking early, and sometimes it can be real slow and make me want to create a fortress out of paper clips and 2 x 4 bandages because that would at least be more interesting than standing around waiting for the patients to show up for their appointments. Overall, its a pretty sweet job though. It pays a whole lot (which also means Uncle Sam takes a whole lot out of my paycheck) and I'm a float, so I get to see some different stuff. This week I'm working with cute little old people in the Geriatrics clinic.
Still though, I'm lookin for a weekend job. Financial aid hasn't been kind to me this year, and tuition is going up. So if you know of anything, don't hesistate to ring me. Plus my car is brizzoke. So I had to get that fixed.
Last weekend was the first weekend this summer I stayed in Ann Arbor. I've been going home and going up to State every weekend before that. And by State I mean Williamston, Michigan- a little town outside of East Lansing. Emily is living on a horse farm there, and it's really chill. I like going up there and playing with all the animals. And my mom and I have been hitting up all the Wal Marts within a ten mile radius when I go home. Sometimes I think being rich can't possibly be as fun as bargain shopping. Oh and I definitely went to Cedar Point with some of the Groovies, and it was AWEEEEESOME. Except the Millenium Force broke down. That was a bummer. But for future reference, the MaxAir is a lot more fun that it looks.
But in other news, my life is pretty boring right now. I'll take this over stressed out though. Here follows a synopsis of my weekday:
6:25 AM: my alarm goes off
7:00 AM: Beth comes and wakes me up because I fell asleep again
7:10 AM: Chug coffee
7:40 AM: Beth and I bike to the hospital
8-12PM: Work at various outpatient clinics. Shoot jealous looks at those employees with alpha pagers.
12-12:30PM: Meet Beth in the hospital cafeteria for lunch at the table by the in house phone and make employees with alpha pagers uneccesariily uncomfortable when they answer their alpha pagers.
12:30-4:30PM: See above
4:40-4:50PM: Bike home, Beth and I discuss who had the more exciting patients (usually we both lose.) Justify to each other why we need alpha pagers.
5PM: Make dinner (or buy dinner)
7PMish: Workout (maybe)
9-11PM: Usually there's some point in this time span that features a trashy television show, like American Idol or the Real World Road Rules Challenge. Sometimes people will come to our apartment and join- mostly me and Beth just sit on the couch and complain about how our feet hurt during the commercial breaks.
11PM (or earlier): Beth turns in for the night.
11-12AM: I dick around on the computer and/or guitar
12AM: Pass out
Should I sell out and become a country music star? It really can't be that hard. I mean, have you listened to the lyrics of some of their songs?
Bonnaroooooo is coming up in a week. I'm super pumped. I hope it doesn't rain. Which means it will. It always rains.
Maybe I'll bring galoshes this time around.
