Okay, remember like a month ago, when I did those three big posts of crap I'd been jotting down in notepad files? Doing it again. Except in only two posts this time, as I don't think I've enough attacks of the grammar-rage to justify a whole post.
Random stuff here, random fan stuff in the next.
- You know what color word sounds weird to me? Vermilion. It's a shade of red, but it always seems like it should be green to me. I don't know why. Possibly it reminds me of verdant, or verdigris?
- (after the valentine buffet at the caf) OMFG, I love pastry. It doesn't even have to be a particularly good example of pastry. I love pastries as a genre, a type. I love all of them simply for their pastriness.
- Oh, fruit. I was up for breakfast this morning and jesus, how did I forget how much I loved this? Just...
I have this unnatural and inastiable love for honeydew. I have never in my life eaten enough honeydew, even when I couldn't eat another bite without popping. And oh, grapes, why don't I eat more grapes? Why didn't remember that I like the red ones better than the green ones? I love them both and oh my god it's all so good.
Oh, fruit. And then lime jello. I love breakfast.
- Fuck, I'm such a dork.
I just popped out with *dun dun DUN* with no sense of irony at all, just glee.
- If you know me in RL, you know that I'm better to talk to in person, because the voices and the gestures don't really translate into text. But this is better for getting ideas across, for telling people things, because when I try to do that in person, I talk too fast and stumble over my words and then have to talk unnaturally slowly and do the hand-dance of keeping time.
- Oh my god, I'm totally a giant litsnob!
I was looking at this comm, right, and for the intro post they wanted you to list your five favorite books and I looked at this guy's list and just thought what amounts to "feh. poseur." because they were all really hyped books, like The Garden of Good and Evil and As I Lay Dying.
I fucking suck. But really, who only loves really poular novels? Someone who doesn't love books enough to read off of the bestseller list, that's who.
- Elizabeth Weir took my mother's calls.
No, no, really. That's the name of the woman who answered the phone at the student union when Mom did the whole long-distance stalking thing. That is awesome.
- Okay, see, one way you can really, really tell I read too much, too young? My extremely erratic spelling. Not wrong-erratic. just erratic-erratic.
I was quite the fan of the British novels. E. Nesbit and the like (Five Children and It! Best Ever! Did you know there's a movie?). And then in fourth grade, I kind of fell in love with the really old Harlequin novels, that originally cost 25 cents and had the extremely British spelling and punctuation.
Which is why in my senior year of high school, my English teacher kept trying to get me to drop the habit of inserting extraneous u's into things.
And I'm pretty sure it's the reason my brain doesn't blink at things like pyjamas instead of pajamas.
- Also, aargh, rhetorical is not hypothetical, kill you ALL.
Also? This one's kind of tiny; the next one, not so much.
