Sylvia Ourelia
Age:21
Height: 4'11" (1.4m)
Weight: 100lb (45.3kg)
Gender: F
Sylvia is a female of slight build, with platinum blonde hair and piercing blue eyes. She sports a faintly elfin, childlike appearance. Originally, she kept her hair in a short bob, but she's been growing it out more. She typically wears odd outfits, but the colors of white, black, and blue make an appearance in all her clothing.
Sylvia has no real memory of her parents save for fuzzy ones from when she was very young(five? six? somewhere thereabouts).
(The state assumed custody of Sylvia following the emergence of her powers. Her parents disappeared afterward, and may have been killed trying to prevent this. They may have also been running experiments on her which triggered her powers. Could be a plot hook, so it's the GM's choice on these. Sylvia does not know about any of this, in any case.)
She grew up in a facility for ESPers(for examination of the military applications of ESP, probably) where attempts were made to gauge and enhance her psychic potential, which was fairly high, but raw and unfocused, as well as conditioning her for military use. At the time, she displayed good innate ability for telepathy, but while her telekinesis was powerful, she had only minor control over it.
She spent ten years in the ESPer facility. She was treated well, but there was an undercurrent of fear in those who dealt with her. Those who didn't fear her regarded her as an object to be used or studied. She came to realize that she could overload the attendant's blockers with her telekinesis. Using this, she escaped from the facility and ran off-planet (GM's choice, the military of this planet may or may not be after her. She may or may not have been planted with some sort of mental control triggers.)
While she actively avoided any sort of brainwashing or mind control (never tried, this is why she isn't able to now but may develop the ability later) she did use her telepathy, as a psychological edge, to ensure she never had to go completely homeless or hungry. In this way she traveled around, from home to home, stowing away on ships to leave a planet or colony when she tired of them. This is how she ended up on the Opera, only she was discovered this time. Shocked when the crew (of two?) allowed her to stay, provided she carried her own weight as a crew member. The crew were aware of her telepathy (having her try to use it on occasion) but may not be fully aware of the depths of her telekinetic ability. (as she's only used it in full force a couple of times and rarely directly in front of anyone other than S1gg)
Sylvia is selfish and a little spoiled. She hasn't really contributed as much as she'd like to claim, and affects an superior, disposable attitude toward nearly everyone else who hasn't shown they have some sort of power over her or proven they are of use to her. Obviously this is lessened with her crew members, whom she regards as surrogate family and actually cares about a lot, regardless of how she acts toward them. Recent events on the Opera have revealed to her what the crew means to her, and have inspired her to refine her telekinetic control, and explore other avenues of her mental abilities, as well as better learn how to help out with the ship in terms of repair and operation.
