More Mr. Clean Freak

The kitchen is god damn immaculate. I cleaned everything. I even cleaned the inside of the microwave, which was a horrible ordeal. It smelled like the Target in Gainesville, which is an odd thing to smell like. To be fair though, the Target in Gainesville has a very distinctive funk about it.

Then I went to cook up a Homestyle Bake, which is one of those nifty meal-in-a-box things. The only thing is, when I turned on the oven, it started billowing smoke minutes later. So I got on the case. It turns out that the grease from all the brats I've broiled in the oven had started cooking up, which is obvioulsy a bad, bad thing. So I turned the oven off and unplugged the smoke detector so it wouldn't go off and alert me of something I was already quite aware of. Then I got the cleaning the bottom of the oven. It was fucking disgusting. From now on when I cook a brat I'm putting down some foil in the oven to catch the grease so this sort of thing never happens again.

Then I finished preping the food. The oven was still smoking a little bit, but nowhere near as much before. I'm guessing it heated up more and starting cooking the stuff on the grates. Some time in the near future I'm buying oven cleaning spray and hitting that whole thing.

The apartment is hazy from the deathcloud of smoke.

I take a lot of satisfaction in the cleanliness of the apartment. Every day is another step towards the whole place being really clean. Plus, we need to do it anyway for when they come in and steam the carpets and such.
