I'm so lazy with the updates. almost a month. that's a record.
up north was:
floating away on rafts, spying on amish people, procuring ice cream, being accosted by the goose lady, sinking the paddleboat, being pulled in by brian the attorney and fellow water-sporting on the lake friends, falling asleep to movies, playing grubs, sleeping in til noon everyday, watching movie charades, craving slurpees, riding in cars to mixes, playing innumerable games of euchre, golf, and rummy, finding ribbon, buttons, and beaded curtains, belts falling through, ears ringing, daytime spooning on the air mattress, making hummus and cucumber subs, talking too loud about big sandy, leaving numerous inapplicable voicemails, quoting school of rock, considering one am as being early, lacking cell phone service, hearing half a life story, making friendship bracelets, being hated on by some of the extended dembowski family, watching mosquito bites being "x"ed, applying knuckle tattoos, applying mixed letters from knuckle tattoos in other places, misunderstanding words ("do you like my sunglasses, cl#%?", "no, three-eyed bitch!"), falling in muck, laughing at close calls with fish, catching turtles, dodging seaweed clusters, building a damn good campfire, s’moring, watching fireworks, taking insane amounts of (occasionally unattractive and amusing) pictures, not being able to hold back laughter, seeing friends completely energetic and goofy and realizing how good I have it...
and a lot more I’m sure I’m forgetting. I could include pictures, but dana and sara took care of that. the week pretty much defined the tone of my summer so far... if that makes sense to anyone else. to sum it up, I loved it! thank you, dana, for inviting us. do I really smell like a hippie??
aside from that, lately there's been... starting to work at p.j.s, missing friends at various camps/in other states/countries, failing to write to most of those friends (sorry!), a lot of much appreciated birthday money from the relatives, a lot of driving to royal oak, a lot of realizing it's worth the drive, a lot of needing to hang out with friends I haven't seen in awhile, a lot of not wanting this summer to end.
