"without erasing the dark background" ? Well, you chose the dark instead of white when you erase the japanese writings. That's the answer you want or I didn't understand your question ?^^'
The thing is, Paint can only take a single colour at the same time when erasing. But the background that I have to erase the writing of is filled with inter-mixed colours and is following a pattern that makes erasing impossible. So I was wondering how you were doing it whilst not leaving unmatching colour spots behind when the translated writings were applied?
Ah, and I'm speaking of your version of the doujin (writings and all), because like I said, I don't understand japanese, and I don't have an account on arigatomina. -though I'd like to have one- Or is there a version with no writings at all, that you take and fill in the blank speaking boxes?
Well, I don't use Paint. ^^' I use "Paint Shop Pro 7". I erase japanese and write in french instead. I don't have version with no writings but I would like because sometime, it's hard to draw parts which I had to erase out of necessity.
so THAT'S the program you're using! Tell me, is it downloadable?? I may just be able to discover the hidden button that erases the writings without erasing the background in there...
Waouh ! Explain all steps ? Hum... that will be hard but, I will try. ^^'
When you open your file (scan), you have many "outils" at the left. Chose the last one you can use : "Forme prédéfinie". Here, you have to chose th form you want (circle in our case). Then, chose the color you want (white for most of the time).
I found them alright. However, the circle doesn't seem to allow me my text.
That, and I can't even erase a bit of the writings without erasing its surroundings. Damn, I almost want Paint again...
Can you take a sceenshot of each step you make, then give me each link to show me how you proceed, little by little (from erasing to translating to writing it)? Sorry that I'm so visual, but it's the only effective way I've known to learn well so far...
Oh, and if able to, take a page where the writings aren't in the usual white bubble, but in a colour-mixed background. Like in toware no yubi, if you go to p. 8 and read at the bottom left; those are the kinds of difficulties I'm talking about.

Many people will be really happy if you do it. ^^

I think that will be more clear. ^^'
At the end, you just have to extend your circle on the text and write your own text.
Is that clear ? ^^'
