[An akuma appears through the roof of the house, pulling boards and tiles and what-nots with it. It explodes soon after, and Lenalee can be seen floating at a safe distance away; she turns, spotting the akuma that are now outside. The House was being over run; Kanda would be fine on his own for right now--

Lavi?

She sighs-- they had been looking for him (now only Allen was missing); Lenalee jumped along the debris falling from appearing through the roof, flipping her body over itself to land a sharp heel into the top of one of the akuma he was fighting.]

[Lavi feels another Akuma crumble beneath the weight of his Innocence when his eye catches sight of the familiar fighting style of Lenalee. He hears her call his name but he's forced to destroy another demon before he can focus on her.

She looked.. different. Was that even really her? It had to be.. she was fighting Akuma with him.]

Lenalee.. ? What are you--

[Here, failed-to-be-sneaky-Akuma, have a bitch slap from Tessei.

And another one goes down.]

I came to help you-

[She's taken hold of on the ankle by a tentacle-like limb on one of the akuma; Lenalee loses her footing, but uses the incident to her advantage, gripping the ground and twisting her body with the added strength of her boots to pull the akuma away from it's perch. The added momentum pulls her up and allows her to regain the advantage in air. She plummets into it, bounding backward when the grip it had on her loosens and it destroys mid air. She remains in the air, floating.]

There are akuma everywhere; Kanda's still inside, but I think he safe.

[She lands next to him, watching the barrage of akuma slow down a bit; she places her back toward his.]

[He takes one brief moment to watch Lenalee fight, having not had many chances aside from the attack at HQ to observe her battle with her newly formed Innocence. But his attention is quickly turned back to the Akuma approaching him.

One lightning and two fire seals later, he's looking over his shoulder and giving her a quizzical stare.]

Yu's here, too?

[Lenalee spins herself quickly, landing a rough kick into another akuma.]

Yes-- I found him after waking up in the House this morning. I still think he's mad at me.

[Lavi is then plagued with an odd feeling; one mixed with both understanding and confusion at the same time. Why does he feel like he's missing something huge?]

[The handle of his hammer grows and the spear atop the weapon pierces through the body of an Akuma, causing it to explode.]

[Lenalee stops and turns in his direction.]

Last week... in the forest. I was bitten by a cobra, remember?

[When she realizes, no, Lavi does not remmeber, she stops to take a better look at him. Cloud had left the House and come back without his memories maybe Lav--

He was wearing a new uniform. It matched Kanda and Allen's.]

[He wracks his mind for an explanation. Was that why she was dressed differently? Had she been in this house.. ? No. He had JUST seen Lenalee return from a mission. And what about Yu?

Nothing was making sense right then. Cobra? Lenalee had died? A faint image appears in his thoughts and, disturbingly enough, it's one of her corpse.]

Wait.. I think..

[His gaze drops to the ground, and remains there for a few seconds until he lifts it to meet hers once again.]

But I've never been here before.. right?

[At first she receives a blank stare in response. The question seems so.. random and sudden. But then he grins weakly, because really, how is he supposed to react to that? She knows his occupation forbids him from forming attachments. Why would he be in an open relationship?]

[Well, if she wanted an answer, that was it. If Lavi didn't remember that, then he must have gone back like Cloud... he didnt' remember anything, at all. Nothing about them. Just like Kanda had warned them to begin with.

And she had stupidly let herself fall for him, and get hurt. She gives him a weak smile anyway.]

[Akuma are a good excuse to leave. Lenalee flies back into the air, bouncing across the tops of four flying akuma floating overhead, and pushing herself as far from Lavi as she can without seeming to be running away.]

[As the last one exploded beneath her feet, catching her off guard and causing her to fall out of the sky, Lenalee attempts to catch herself. Her Innocence now reacts to her emotions, and it doesn't react the way she expects--

He doesn't remember anything. All that work, their relationship-- back to square one. Like with Cloud.

She lands roughly on her back.]

[He watches in utter confusion until he's forced to return to fighting.

Maybe he wouldn't have been so worried if she had actually explained some things to him before leaving. But oh well, duty calls, right? No.. she was acting weird. Lavi could see that much.

The next time he looks in her direction, he sees her falling from the sky.]

What the.. Lenalee!

[Hastily he finishes off the monsters he's fighting prior to rushing over to her fallen form, extending the handle of his hammer to take out some Akuma that had been floating closer. Upon reaching her, Lavi offers a hand to assist her in getting back on her feet.]

Lenalee-- what's wrong with you?
