Just received a promotional email from Barnes & Noble.

Subject line: "Columbus Discovered America. You'll Discover Great Savings."

DO WE REALLY NEED TO KEEP HAVING THIS CONVERSATION.

(Also, "great savings" = 10% coupon? Pish.)

I think my default setting on the journal is something like "adult concepts" so if you're not logged in or something that's what you see? It's definitely not something specific to the post.

It means "owl-like", from the Latin word for owl. I've got a bit of a classical studies background, so I want to use the hard "g". Not 100% sure about the vowels; I'm inclined to use short "i".
