Cause of death: fractured ribs leading to punctured lung and damaged arteries,
April 2 Auction: won by Genkaku, final bid of 2,000,050.00,
April 4 Physical alterations: amputated arm replaced by artificial fake during recycling process, injuries fixed, but artificial voice left untouched (as it wasn't deemed an "injury" worth repairing)
Master's alterations: has to 'love Genkaku'
Details: Due to a combination of his newly implanted command and mental trauma from the incidents that led up to his death, Nagi's become a bit warped. Specifically:
✘ The command of 'having to love Genkaku' means that he's forced to accept a person who enjoys killing -- as a result, he's lost a large portion of his ability to perceive morals. He still retains his judgment of 'what is pleasant and unpleasant,' i.e. he's still a fairly nice and friendly and warm person (because being a jerk is unpleasant for both parties), but he's lost a lot of his perception of 'what is right and wrong.' So, for example -- watching someone die would simply be accepted as 'unpleasant, but it happened, so that's that.' He's grown painfully accepting of everything, in a way, and given the right circumstances, would kill without much hesitation.
✘ Though not a direct effect of Genkaku's requested alteration, he's also mostly lost his quality of 'being hopeful,' as he's been through a very big loss and immense despair. Though a thought like 'it would be nice if things happened well' would still be typical, there's no longer the mindset of 'there's a way things can work out and I can make it happen.' A very, very passive sort of view on the matter of 'hope and chance.'
✘ His memories of the past few months are extraordinarily hazy at best, entirely gone for the most part. He remembers brief flashes of people and what he felt towards them, but for the most part, they're a huge blank chunk that he chalks up to an unpleasant trauma he has no desire to delve into. Genkaku, he remembers as the person who 'ended that period of time,' which is what he believes is the reason he's drawn to Genkaku.
✘ His memories of his past are also somewhat blurred -- he remembers his wife and her death, but not that Genkaku killed her. He also remembers having a child that was killed along with his wife -- which is partly the reason why he (thinks he) no longer believes in 'hope' very much. Genkaku, he remembers being present at the laboratory for some reason, but not much else.
✘ He does have the instinctive feeling that something is wrong between himself and Genkaku, mostly in that he feels faint pangs of unease and fear around the other at times. This, he doesn't know what to do about, and doesn't wish to delve into too much, as something tells him that discovering the truth would be a crushing sort of experience.
✘ Individual people that he spoke to and interacted with during the past few months, he remembers vaguely in terms of his thoughts towards them and his relationship to them, but the exact details and the reasons behind these thoughts are mostly gone. He'll still act mostly the same towards them.
✘ This alteration of memories is NOT something permanent. The newly programmed command conflicted too much with his original mindset, and so his brain did a bout of auto-reconfiguration in order to keep him from going through a total mental breakdown. (Similar to the way he forced himself to forget that his child had died, sort of an automatic defense mechanism.) If someone insists on telling him about his forgotten memories, he may start to remember brief flashes of the things he's forgotten, but it will most likely be a fairly painful process, and one that would confuse him immensely.
Any questions or comments (for whatever reason, though I don't expect any?) can go here. (:
