This is what happened to me memorably in Left 4 Dead.
It's not bad. The majority of the time, I have competent partners. We shoot bad stuff, move on, share stuff, live and survive, end of story.
But whenever I have a problem with someone, it's not because they're bad (But there are bad players out there).
The problem is pacing. My partners, for whatever reason, decide on holing up in a building, room, or what have you. They think this is the end for some reason, when clearly we're not getting rescued here.
The reason I hate this so much? The game's A.I. director will see us lollygagging someplace and practically think, "Hmmm... you guys are really boring! why are you just staying there? Oh well! I'll just move you guys by throwing a tidal wave of zombies at you. That should move you!"
AHHH!
There's nothing quite like standing near an entrance and watching zombies file in like a fucking river.
It's frightening
It's frustrating
It's exhilirating
I want more.
