I've been making small posts on tumblr during my Princess Tutu watch, and then it occurred to me that I should post on lj.

So, thoughts mostly from the first three episodes of season 2. (Warning for discussion of psychological abuse in the episode 2 section.)

Rue's dad is the only character on this show that I have actually HATED. I mean the other antagonists had heart shards or were just kind of dickish or were Fakir or Rue. BUT YOU CAN'T BE ABUSIVE TO RUE!!!! I actually get kind of mad when tainted!Mytho is mean to Rue, and then I remember that it's kind of her fault that he's doing bad things. Sob. (I worry that I'm woobifying her, but she's like 14, MAYBE 15 so.)

So glad that Ahiru worries about her too. ...actually they might be my favourite ship at the moment?? Because they are my favourites AND I REALLY NEED RUE TO BE HAPPY and Ahiru cares so much and Rue is so confused by that and kind of cares back but is mostly ???? WE'RE SUPPOSED TO BE ENEMIES WHY ARE YOU ACTING SO CONCERNED?! And idk. Ahiru/Tutu solves problems by talking about feelings, which Rue really needs to deal with. Bird princesses dancing off into the sunset~

I also really like Ahiru/Fakir! And ship Rue/Mytho, but I'm confused about Mytho and feelings. I just. I really need her to be loved back.

Uzura is a cutie. I do miss Edel though.

No, no, I also get mad when Mytho is mean to Rue because Rue should be able to love and be loved without getting abuse, goddamnit. A lot of Tutu fandom loves Rue a lot, you are definitely not alone! (That said, she is, of course, the one main character who tends to get the most hate, because fandom.)

But yes, I love that Ahiru loves Rue without reservation and cares about her wellbeing when Fakir if pushed would probably write her off. They are just so the best and I love them a lot. (Giselle/S01E04 is my favourite S1 episode for reasons!!)

I also miss Edel a lot, it is a wound that does not heal. I wrote introspective Edel fic aaaaaaaages ago but wound up not posting it. I might rewrite it. Maybe. But yeah, I love Edel and Uzura and forever sad that they couldn't coexist because it would be the greatest. (Fic heads up: I think everything of mine that is published is set post-series, so definitely do not read any of it until you are done.)
