Dessa is... wiki puts her in the "Alternative Hip Hop" and "Underground Hip Hop" genres. She mixes singing with rap and spoken word.
Her songs always strike me as coming out of a distinctly female experience, with a mix of frustration and wry observances. That's probably why these vids are all centred around female characters.
Even if you don't know the fandom, these fanvids are all wonderfully edited. And hey, the music is good.
