Trib's Oil for Cat Ass and Scarring.

Jan 15, 2008 20:03

So.. I have been a little impatient stretching my bitch ear, which has resulted in a very, very slight cat-ass scarring in the hole... Before you all stab be with tapers and spit on me, I've learned my lesson. I'm staying here at 4g for no less than three months to take care of bitchy. But thats not the real reason I posted. I wanted to share my little home anti-scar oil with you all.

I used a hypoallergenic massage oil blend I use at word that's yummy on the skin because I'm out of jojoba... but any carrier will do... avocado, sunflower, grapeseed, apricot kernel, camellia, evening primrose... and of course, stay away from nut oils like hazelnut, macadamia or sweet almond if you have nut allergies!

For softening scar tissue avacado, jojoba, rosehip or wheatgrem would likely to be the ideal carrier oils because they all are highly beneficial in softening and reversing damage to the skin. I strongly recommend jojoba because it is a highly penetrative oil that will help the essential oils absorb well deep into the skin.

Emu oil is not a carrier, so I wouldn't use it.

A few aromatherapy warnings: If you don't read these and something happens to you. Sucks to be you, I am issuing the standard warnings when using essential oils....

1. LAVENDER OIL can effect menstrual flow, and it potentially harmful during pregnancy. DO NOT USE while pregnant. Also can make people with low blood pressure drowsy.

2. MYRRH OIL also can be dangerous during pregnancy. DONT USE WHILE PREGNANT!

3. Please do a PATCH TEST before using your oil on your ears. Rub a tiny amount of oil blend on the inside of your arm and leave for 24 hours to see if you have any reactions to the oils.

Okay, now I have my ass covered... onto the recipe!

20ml/75g Carrier Oil.
5 drops lavender essential oil.
5 drops neroli essential oil.
2 drops chamomile essential oil.

Lavender and Neroli are very helpful in helping to repair damaged or aging skin. They help to soften tissue. Chamomile is very soothing to the skin (which is nice after the trauma of recent blowout or tearing...).

I massage twice a day. Sometime more if I have the time to play with my ears a little more than usual.

HINT: If you've torn you ears, treat with salt water soaks until healed before applying oils. Oils=broken skin... ouchies. Not so nice. They also can risk infection in some cases if applied to broken skin/wounds.

Other essential blends that can help scarring...

4 frankinsence... 3 lavender... 3 neroli
3 frankincense... 4 lavender... 3 myrrh
6 drops frankincense essential oil.

Also, if I feel my ears are needing extra help healing, I swap one of my lobe massage to castor oil. Castor oil is a wonderful oil to help heal tissue, though it is a little sticky. To reduce stickyness, feel free to mix with a carrier oil like jojoba, olive or avocado.

I hope this is helpful to other people. Perhaps it could be saved to the memories somewhere for reference?

EDIT:

For a simple, good reference to essential oils, I really lke "Introducing Aromatherapy" by Margrit Bachmann. It's a good quick reference to blend for a varety of ailments as well as information on carriers and essenstial oils and the uses.

I'm not sure what sources online are very reputable to look up information, but if I find some good links, I'll edit to add.
