hiking

It is such a nice day, just like any other day in socal, sunny and breezy.  I figured i need some exercise, so i have picked up walking these days.  my co-workers and I have formed a walking team during lunch break to walk around for half an hour everyday.  in addition, I am going hiking on weekends.  In fact I went hiking a couple weeks ago.  my co-worker and I hiked up the moutains behind arcadia.  that means i have to drive from home for a hike, sounds crazy, but beats staying at home, watching tv all day.

today we went up again to the moutains with another co-worker.  since the third person is a guy, he gets to drive up the winding road into the moutain.  normally he wears a nice shirt and pants at work and today he wore an hawaiian shirt,  too much contrast.  it's a nice walk, we parked somewhere in the middle of the moutain.  last time the parking was 5 bucks, but free today because of veteran's day.  i guess we should come every major holidays.  the trail goes up the moutain then leads all the way down to the bottom, and then a 30 degree climb to get back.  there is a waterfall, but i was quite disappointed to see a tiny stream coming down from rocks about a hundred feet off the ground.  on the way up to the parking lot, clouds formed and it started to drizzle.  haven't seen rain for a while, certainly nice to see even tiny drizzle that lasted for about 10 minutes.

the whole walk took us 3.5 hours.  i was exhausted and hungry.  by the time we got to a restaurant I felt lighted headed as if my soul is leaving my body.  we had a late lunch at 京都 in montery park, ate dim sum.  the interior decoration is quite nice and spacious, not like those usual small and dim chinese restaurant, haven't seen such a nice place in a while.  the food was really good, much better than all the ones i had before.  there might be some bias since I was beyond hungry.

i should be overly tired, yet i don't feel such, perhaps i will taste the consequences when i get up in the morning.
