Petshop Of Horrors, fic: Obvious Assumptions

Jun 22, 2008 11:57

I've decided to 'pull' this story off public access for now.

Leon had become my inner mascot for humanity, and D, a representative of  Nature as a whole, and any 'higher consciousness'  that might exist within it.

Ironically, there is an underlying concept that I have become more and more aware of in the Petshop Of Horrors manga:  all living things strive to find affirmation of the value of their personal, individual lives, and reassurance that something of it will be continually sustained within all existence.

In short, we want our existence to matter/count, for crying out loud!

I guess that's why I've wanted D to honestly care about and love Leon.  I want all of humanity to still be valuable to Nature, even though we've made asses of ourselves as a collective.

There's a lot of healing needed in humanity that needs to be done before we can find just how important in and to Nature we really are.
