After receiving his orders about the Friends of Humanity rally, Logan decided to go outside to the back porch for some fresh air. His head was still buzzing with what could possibly happen at the rally, when he pulled out a cigar from his coat pocket. As the tip of the cigar was lit, he watched a few of the students pass him to go inside, not giving them a positive or negative reaction, but just watching as the left.

Ororo breathed in a deep lungful of fresh air as she stepped out onto the back porch and then furrowed her brow when she smelt of smoke. Logan. Turning her head, she arched an eyebrow and remarked, "I don't suppose I have to tell you how bad those things are for your health."

She stepped forward and settled herself on the step, tilting her head towards the sun letting it wash over her bare shoulders and warm her skin. She'd experienced a chill whilst speaking with the Professor in his office. The Friends of Humanity never failed, it always got that sort of response. She supposed it came from the horrible truth that they were people in the world that hated what they were.

"When are you and Rogue heading out?" She inquired, turning her head to look over her shoulder.

A smirk appeared on Logan's face when Ororo's first question was asked. "I like to live a little, 'Ro." Although he did move the cigar over to his side so that she didn't have to breathe in the smoke too much. A shrug formed on his shoulders when it came to her second question, "Not sure yet," he turned to face her, "Gotta talk to her. What about you and Scott?"

"The same," She shared with a bemused smile.

Truthfully and honestly she was worried, Scott wasn't himself but she didn't expect him to be, he had lost Jean and to him she had been everything. Throughout the months and years of Jean's passing, Ororo had shouldered responsibility so Scott wouldn't have to but now there were things to be done, the world was stirring and she only hoped that Scott would be able to keep up. The last thing she wanted was for him to lose his way.

Her thoughts passed silently through her mind and briefly clouded her eyes until blinked away, "I'll need to find him first. He left the Professor's office before I had a chance to speak with him."

"Typical of Summers ..." Logan said gruffly as he inhaled from his cigar again. He took a moment to exhale the smoke, his eyes being drawn to the hazy patterns within the air, before he added, "Chuck should have stuck the both of us together. You in the air and me on the ground, nothing would get past us."

Ororo chuckled softly before tipping her head and focusing her attention on the wisps of smoke, a soft breeze causing them to swirl almost as if they were dancing before they finally dissipated into thin air.

"I'm inclined to agree," She remarked a moment later. There was no doubting Logan's abilities and she was happiest when she was in the air, held up by the currents of wind. It felt right.

Another shrug formed on Logan's shoulders. "Guess we'll see how this turns out." His mind wandered back to what could happen during the rally. Oh, there were too many possibilities for him to even wrap his finger around. Suddenly, he snapped out of it and asked, "Were you gonna go to your garden?" Not that he was really interested in gardening, but making small talk.

"I had been planning on it," Ororo shared with a nod of her head, "It helps me relax."

Much like Logan Ororo had been thinking about the possibilities and trying her best to remain optimistic but lacking a certain amount of faith in humanity she found it difficult to grasp onto the concept.

"Would you like to join me?" She offered as she rose to her feet and turned to regard Logan through one short strand of white hair.

The question caused Logan's brow to raise as he wasn't expecting it. But with a smirk, he said, "As long as I can smoke ..."

"Logan," Ororo remarked in a tone of voice that suggested he curb that particular urge.

With a parting smile, she leaned down and removed her flip flops to step out over the grass with bare feet. The sun caught her skin and caused her hair to shimmer, Ororo was truly at home when she was outside with nature.

She traced the path from memory and soon the door to a greenhouse was being opened. The interior was quite something to look upon, every plant under the sun was growing, vines crept over walls and long leafy growths seemed to hang from the ceiling. It had an earthy smell and it was the perfect mix of hot and cold with a misting of water.

Ororo settled her shoes down and turned her attention to a small rosebush she had been attending to earlier, "You'll be careful I hope?" This was spoken over her shoulder and directed towards Logan.

Logan rolled his eyes, "Fine, but only for you ..." Wanting to save the rest of his cigar, he patted out the lit end atop the banister and placed it back within his coat pocket before following her to her greenhouse.

Various smells assaulted him when he stepped inside. The multiple scents of different nectars and earth. His eyes find themselves gazing around his surroundings, "Yeah, don't worry." Following her to the rosebush, he added, "This is a nice setup in here." He wasn't really one for flowers, but it was natural and he appreciated that.

She turned to give him a smile, "Thank you Logan." Ororo had set up the greenhouse almost as soon as she had moved in. After living on the streets for so long it was nice to have an escape that was hers and hers alone. "I'm sure I don't need to say this but I'll say it anyways, keep Rogue close." She worried fervently for all those she considered under her care, the children especially even when they were young adults and very capable of taking care of themselves.

"No prob... What?" Logan had to ask her as continued to watch her tend to the plant. "Where did that come from?" Arms now found themselves across his chest as a brow arched upwards.

"I worry about her, Logan." Ororo explained before she caught her finger on a thorn and she made a small sound before drawing her finger back to regard the blood gathering on her skin. "She has it a lot harder than most of us."

She sucked away the blood and rubbed at the small cut. "Then there's the fact that she spoke with John only a day ago, we all know how difficult it is when a friend turns to another for answers and they choose a side of a line we were always so aware of." She dropped her eyes away and then walked over to one of the vines, catching the leaf between her fingers and checking it for disease. "She hasn't been herself for quite some time now."

"Rogue is big enough to handle herself. She says it herself, and I trust her." Logan stuffed his hands into his pockets as he continued to watch Ororo. "'Ro, she's at least changed since she first came here." There was a pause before he snorted, "John ... That kid's no good, but it ain't my job to play babysitter."

She stepped around the vine, disappeared into the growth and appeared on the other side slightly damp from the condensation clinging to the air. "I still worry," Ororo said with a shrug of her shoulders. She'd always been overprotective of the children, always wanted to keep them safe, the way her parents had kept her safe until they had been taken from her.

"All I can ask is that you're careful and you both come back in one piece." Sometimes she sounded like an old broken record but if she didn't say 'be careful' and 'come back to us', who would? They'd lost Jean, lost John, and Ororo wasn't willing to lose another person she cared about.

"Fine," was let out gruffly. "'Ro, you know you can stop playing mother for at least five minutes, right?" He didn't mean to sound rude by it, but wanted to be a friend. "You have a life too, you know."

Ororo was silent safe for the sound the scissors she was using to prune a planet made whenever she snipped away a branch. "Perhaps, but I refuse to lose anyone else." She commented as she settled the scissors down and turned to look at him.

Blue eyes were open with emotions until guarded again as she turned away and she tended to another plant. "I suppose I should make plans of sorts, to enjoy myself. I can't recall the last time I actually went out." Yes she could, it had been a couple weeks before Jean's death and then everything else became more important than fun.

"'Ro we're not gonna lose ..." He paused though when he caught a glimpse of her eyes when she looked back at him. Taking a few careful steps towards her, his tone changed, one from near defensive to surrender within a matter of seconds.

He didn't want to lose another either, Jean was enough over his head. All of the heavy liquor in the world wasn't enough to cure that headache that loomed over him. "We won't lose Rogue, I promise ... Why don't you go out or something. You know, shop or dance or - whatever?" He didn't really concern himself with what women did in their spare time.

Ororo didn't move as Logan approached, she merely took a few calming breaths and worked on wrestling emotions back under control. "I'll hold you to that," She commented to Logan as she lifted her eyes to look at him.

"I think I'll probably go dancing, I love to dance." She shared with a wistful smile, it had been a really long time since she had done anything of the sort.

"And if it doesn't fall through?" Logan asked hesitantly. Well, Ororo controlled the weather, that right there is power. "Sounds fun. Should get the other females here to go with you or something." Again, what did he know about female activities besides the fact that they all went to the bathroom together.

"I suppose you'll have to wait and see," Ororo remarked with a small look towards him, Logan could make of that what he wanted.

She seemed to give a pause and a long consideration to his suggestion, "A girl's night out." She now chuckled softly, "Goddess help New York."

A smirk crossed Logan's face for a moment as he discarded her threat. "There ya go." His head cocked towards the door of the greenhouse, "I'm gonna go inside for a bit. And 'Ro, don't worry so much." Logan then headed out of the greenhouse and back towards the mansion.

"Easier said than done, Logan." She muttered as she watched his retreating back before flicking her wrist and manipulating the wind to close the door of the greenhouse so she could be submerged in nature itself.
