Just So You Know
If anyone was wondering what these strange and wonderful things I've been working on are/ if they really exist. I'm going to post one of the pages of one of manuscripts that I'm working on. Yes, I can read them, turn it into singable music ,and with a little effort and I can even figure out what the scrawly scrawly handwriting says and translate it into today-english. I know... sometimes I amaze myself!
It's so pretty!! I love the fact that it has more than just black, like most do.. the red staff is actually fairly rare, and if you look, I think this page has red coloration too (that makes triplets). These are the things that musicologists drool over. When I went to Florence and was allowed to look at Renaissance manuscripts, I think I almost cried when they handed me my first one. I know.. I'm a dork. But that's why I do this!
