(no subject)
Corey, my dad and I were supposed to go see Up this afternoon. But then at around two, one of Dad's friends stopped by with tickets he couldn't use for.... Yankees/Mets Subway Series tonight!! And he gave them to me and Corey!! I was so excited I started jumping around, lol.
The first Subway Series was at Yankee Stadium, so this one's at Citifield. Corey and I hadn't been there yet since it opened, and it was crazy that our first game there was going to be against the Yankees.
We looked around the stadium a bit before the game when we got there, and didn't get to see all of it, but... And even though it kind of pains me to say this about a Mets stadium... We both thought it was really nice. And as usual, there were a ton of Yankees fans there, it was maybe 60-40 Mets fans to us.
The Yankees ended up winning 5-0. Nick Swisher and Jorge Posada both hit home runs, and there were some awesome plays like an AMAZING catch by Melky Cabrera. Burnett had a no-hitter through five innings, but no dice. He got the win, though, and then proceeded to wear an unnecessarily gaudy shirt in post-game.
So that was a nice, unexpected way to spend my night.
I think we're going to see Up tomorrow instead. I'm bringing tissues, because everyone I know who saw it said they cried.
