Why didn't I do this sooner? (or, why the FAFSA rules)

So, I finally got off my lazy ass today and went to the student financial aid office to look into applying for financial aid. I asked the woman behind the desk if it was worth my time to apply for this school year and was met with a rather exuberant yes. I also found out that if I quallify for aid Spring quater, I'll likely recieve money for Fall and Winter quarter of this year retroactively.

Man I hope I qualify. Free college would be fantastic.
