After a Christmas Eve dinner of sting ray and pirahna, a delightful sleep and waking up in 34 degree heat to Christmas Day, I just wanted to say thank you all for reading, supporting, commenting, writing emails and all wonderful feedback in the last year. 7 years ago, I was one of the lucky Singaporean audience members who got to experience the magic that is watching you perform on our streets. Today, I suddenly thought of you again, found your blog, and thus read, much to my dismay, that you'd been in Singapore just this Christmas (!) and I'd missed it (!!) - because I wasn't aware (that you were back on our sunny shores), wasn't home, haven't been for a while, and still am not.
3 years ago, when I was 19, I, like you, hopped on a plane, but unlike you, in the reverse direction, -towards- North America. The Greater Boston area, to be specific, to attend Tufts University. I've since spent no longer than a few months at home in Singapore, and am currently spending my 3rd year of college at Oxford, in the United Kingdom. Discovering your writings about Singapore tonight has thus been immensely precious, not only because I miss home, but because you've written about it with such attention and clarity, and with such a genuine sense of appreciation and joy. Thank you!
It's awesome to know that 7 years later, you're still in the business of performing and touching lives - and, with your blog, in more ways than one! (That proposal story entry - incredibly sweet! Congratulations!)
If you'll be performing the UK/Europe soon, do post about it - I will be sure to keep a look out for you - as well as advertise your performances amongst my friends, many of whom are spread out across the continent for our 3rd year of college (Tufts strongly encourages it). We would be all too pleased to watch!
