(Sky Woman is the Iroquois mother goddess, who descended to earth by falling through a hole in the sky. Waterbirds carried her down to the sea and set her on the back of a turtle, which became her home. Sky Woman is either the grandmother or the mother of the twin culture heroes Sky-Holder and Flint.)
