Maniac likes little kids, really. He's become the all-grown-up member of more little kid gangs then he count, he's babysat Heck's Angels, the roving tricycle gang, he's bathed Hester and Lester and put them to bed in less then an hour, and he kept Piper and Russell going to school when all they wanted was to go to Mexico by way of the river.
Babies...are a little new, but, he figures, they can't be any different then the baby buffalo.
Or maybe they are.
Either way, he's watching shyly from the mouth of an alleyway a little farther up the street.
Hana spots a new friend first! Of course, she's in a position to see in that direction, while Loo is blocked by her uncle's head. As soon as the baby at his chest starts babbling, though, Sokka is alerted and looks over-- just to smile and wave.
The babies are probably paler than Maniac is, so it doesn't really look natural for Sokka to have them.
"My nieces," Sokka replies, accidentally affirming Jeffery's thoughts. Oh, and wincing when Loo takes the opportunity to grab his ear. "The bratty one's Loo," he says, trying to pull her hand off the lobe."
"HA BABA DA YA!"
"And the shrieky one's Hana. Their mom's wandering around here somewhere."
