There has only been one time in his life where Sokka turned a corner and found himself exactly where he shouldn't be. And, not that he knows this since he hasn't seen a calendar in all this time, that fateful day where he tripped on a root and ended up in an apocalyptic hellhole was only slightly more than a year ago. It was strange, but he was used to strange things. It was shocking, and he'd thought he was used to shocking things.

A year later, Sokka closes the door to his girlfriend's room to head back to his own and does not find himself in the main lobby of the apartment building. In fact, so far as he knows, there is no place in the dead world he's learned to call home that looks even vaguely like the wall he finds himself facing-- or the alley he appears to be standing in.

And the first thing that makes him realize this, is that when he looks up... he sees stars. For a tribal people such as his own, this would be an amazing discovery, truly joyful.

For a boy who seems to have stumbled into yet another alien world without his siblings, girlfriend, or friends, it's not a good sign at all.

"...Paige?" Sokka turns again, away from the words painted over the brick wall-- and finds himself facing another brick wall. "Zuko!" is shouted down the left side of the alley, "Mel!" down the right. And as he picks a direction and starts slowly walking, nervous as he slowly pulls the club from the strap on his back, he calls one last name.

"Katara!"
