There are bodies to be dealt with, and the only way Mel knows how to deal with bodies is by burning.
Zuko is still recovering from the exertion, nursing old injuries he didn't help by fighting, but he's also looking after the girls, and Mel's set herself to setting up a pyre at the end of the street - mostly with wretch bodies and some coal heaved out of the grocery store.
She'll want to talk to people later, but first there's the clean up.
If you get too close, she'll recruit you.
