Just a word to the wise...

Today hasn't been my day. So, just know that right now. Bare that in mind as you read, please.

I woke up this morning at 6am as I do everyday wishing that I could go back to sleep and forget about going to work. Got up, got ready, and walked out the door. Got to my car, noticed my windows were down. Well, normally that wouldn't be a problem. But it rained this morning. Both my doors were soaked and my driver's side seat was wet enough that my butt was still wet even after I sat on a doubled over towel. So, that just set my mood right on up there right off the bat.

So I get to work, wet butt and all, and go in and sit down at my desk. I turned on the radio to John Boy and Billy and turned on my company machine and hooked up my laptop. Both seemed against me, but I whipped them into submission. I then tried to VNC (for those that aren't tech savvy, it's a direct connection to my computer that allows me to see and control it remotely) to my computer at home, nothing. Upon further investigation, I discovered that my internet had died at home. So until I made the trip home for lunch (which I wasn't planning to start with), I would not be able to access my computer or anything I might like to look at on it all day.

Then, I went upstairs after doing some work organizing stuff downstairs (or trying to) to see if I could find anything to help me organize a software file drawer (which I didn't). I stopped off to talk to Stephen Brooks, which is always cool, who informed me that IWT was having visitors come in today. Well, at IWT when visitors come in you dress up a little bit. You know, dog and pony show. Anyway, this morning, I chose to wear some nice jeans, and a Genworth Financial t-shirt. Probably not what you want on when clients/guests are coming in to your company's office. So that sealed the deal on my short lunch. I would have to go home to iron my IWT shirt, change, eat, and go back. I finished my morning tasks and left for lunch at 11:30.

Home for lunch. As I'm preparing what I want to eat, my mom calls me downstairs to ask me if I'd heard anything outside last night. I had not and told her such. She then informs me that my sister's car had been written all over, and I don't mean "We love you Lee" messages. From what I get from Lee, something about being a "thin bitch" with a "faggot ass" boyfriend. So, here's my message to anyone who wants to try anything like that again, or knows who pulled off this little stunt last night. Keep my sister's name out of your mouth. Don't mess with her. Don't talk about her. Don't touch her. Don't touch anything that belongs to her. If you do, and I find out, I'm coming to find you. And you will regret the day you ever met me or my sister. I promise you. If you don't like her (for jealousy or whatever reason), just leave her alone. Got it? Those words have been coming for a long time. I'm her big brother. I know the role. I'm just tired of watching people drag her through the mud. Don't let me hear about it.

That said, I can now tell you about the rest of the day.

Back to work. I parked my car out front where I could see it from my desk so I could leave all the windows and stuff down on it so it could dry. Bout 3:00 I went outside to see how the seats were. To my satisfaction, they were dry. I walked back inside, confident that in an hour, I could leave work and forget today even happened. About 3:15, I heard the word "Rain" and went into panic mode. I ran outside to my car to start closing the holes on it just in time to watch it start pouring rain. The company also had range testing equipment outside so we were all scrambling to get that in. Then the big boss lost his cell phone out there so a few went to find that. I lent them my big golf umbrella.

Basically that's the story of today. I came home, watched some TV, helped dad change the oil in my stinky car, sprayed some Febreeze in there, cleaned it up a little inside, went to dinner, and here I am. So I think I'm going to watch some 24 - Season 3, and go to bed. Hopefully tomorrow can be spent sunning by the pool with a friend or two. But I'm not holding my breath. Goodnight.
