I got home on friday with the the intent to go to the bank get some cash and hang around the house for the evening, got a call from Brenn and ended up at Yorktown mall, just kinda chilling out. Ate at flattop, which was tasty as tastyness. Then we decided that neither one of us wanted to go home, so we saw the 3D nightmare before christmas. It's been a while since I had seen that...really fun soundtrack.
Saturday I went out to Fox for the last chance to shoot people outdoors before it got too cold. I was plagued by mechanical problems all day. I wanted to use my Autococker but I could not get it to behave (between 240-310 over the cronograph...wtf?) needless to say I need to work on that thing. So I pulled out the ion and jumped on the field. Battries died at the crono, went back swaped them out, then adjusted to be in the 270-275 range. Went out to the "river" (mosquito) field, jumped the creek on my run, tripped and jammed my barrel tip into the riverbank, broke my battle swab trying to clear the mud, broke paint in my halo. Then my halo batteries wend down mid game so I played designated idiot and shot of 3-5 shots at a time and used the rip drive. So I got a new swap and stick squeege at the shop on field after the game, and swapped out the batteries for the halo. Halo continued to break paint all day (I think I had a bad batch of Xball bronze)...which dripped goo into my breech and barrel which distroyed any accuracy I could have faked. The second set of games on river2 I made this beautiful run all the way up the middle, all the way to the bunker next to the flag station. I made it there clean, locked down all movement of the other team for about 2 minutes until a teammate shot me in the back of the arm and the back of the head...the hawkeye on my paintball hat is now orange. However the halo behaved on the last game and I did manage to one ball a few people on the last game of the day which left those players very confused as they looked at the hit on their gun and walked off...humor abounds. Despite all my mechanical problems I still had fun. Went to the bar with some of the regulars that I play with after, shot the shit and had a beer or two. To be honest I think one of the most fun parts of paintball is the players you meet.
Got home tired as hell gave mitz a call then finished up some things and crashed hard.
Got out of bed at around noon on Sunday, watched some movies on TeeVee and got a haircut. Figured I should do a full strip and cleaning of the halo...yea that sucked balls. Easy dissasembly...yes...reassembly...no. Especially when you can't find the instructions; thankfully I have no extra pieces and it works as it should, even the spring to pretension the stack is working right. Went out to Payton's Roundhouse to celebrate Spork's birthday. It was fun, but I decided that my night was over then because I was tired as hell and I had work the next day.
One of these days my non-stop running around on weekends is going to kill me....but not today.
