Festivities started early this year with Pete's traditional booze run (slightly shy of four hundred quid this time) last Tuesday, followed by a pre-Christmas celebration at his (on the grounds that most of us were going to visit parents/family for the next couple of days). As is our wont,
olivia_25 and I ended up crashing on the Sofa again.
This lead to an early start for me on Christmas Eve, as both she and Pete had to get up for work, which in turn meant that not only was I ready to go on time but I was actually on the train twenty minutes early. Bit of an odd journey - I anticipated having to do battle with hordes of last-minute Christmas evacuees, but there was almost no one else on board. I gather that this was because they were all on the roads instead.
I spent Christmas itself lazing around my mum's house reading (
ZVR ftw), watching films on the tellybox (notably, all of Pirates of the Caribbean), and eating. I got some nice presents (books and DVDs, for the most part), and all the ones I gave seemed fairly well received. It was, all in all, a thoroughly pleasant few days. Very quiet though. It is always nice to see my family, but I do end up pining for Nottingham after a while...
Anyway, further updates are postponed for a bit - I have to go and get ready. Happy New Year to all :)
