Character Background: Butterfly was a wish-giving cat. He lived on the streets as an alleycat, visible only to humans as a small, straggly black cat who had a nasty temper if approached wrong. One day in passing, a rich young girl on crutches approached him, intent on petting the tired beast. Butterfly swatted at her, and instead of letting her bodyguard shoot him, she decided to take him home anyway. Butterfly was tense, and wary (moreso after being given a bath!), but he slowly grew fond of Alicia.
This manifested in him giving her the wishes that he had (which were made up of his excess lives). The first being to cure her lame leg, enabling her to walk without a brace or crutches. This allowed Alicia to become social, and she grew up quickly, making friends and doing the things a normal young girl wants and needs to do. After this, Butterfly used up a second wish to make himself human so that he could take the lonely mafia daughter on a date when she lamented to her pet that all the boys she knew were too afraid of her father to take her out. Unfortunately for Butterfly though, soon after, his beloved Alicia fell for another boy who looked just like his human form.
Worse for poor Alicia, the boy she loved was the son of a rival mafia boss. It was a blow to his pride, but Butterfly pushed it aside, and instead of taking revenge and earning his wishes back (by killing Alicia), he used up his last wish ability to make himself human one last time, planting himself in harm's way as a distraction while Alicia and her beaux ran away.
Abilites/Special Powers: In canon his ability was to grant wishes (at the cost of his own lives), but he used them all, so likely all he would have left were small things. Token favors for others at most. Beyond that he can shapeshift back and forth between boy and cat.
