Day 1
Dear journal,
Today mommy took me to school...her friend, auntie Melissa spent the night last night...she just had a baby too! So the two mommies stayed up really late to finish a project...and then they had to get some sleep so they could keep up with us in the morning. It was raining when we got to school, and I got all wet! My mommy forgot to bring a blanket...it's ok though...because auntie Kelley held me while my mommy put her stuff away and she was really warm and dried me off. When the bell rang, mommy and me went to first period: choir. Mommy had to sing for 45 minutes! She was kind of tired and a little grumpy because everyone was singing flat and that hurts her ears…and mine too! I was relieved when the bell rang again and we got to go to Mommy’s favorite class: physiology. In this class someone’s baby fell on the floor, it was so sad! I got to listen to how the cardiovascular system works. I didn’t know that the heart has nodes or valves. It was very interesting. I met auntie Kristina’s baby who likes UCLA. After class, me and my Mommy and Mommy’s friends walked to nutrition. It was still raining, but I didn’t get so wet. After meeting some more kids, we went to English. Mommy had to take a quiz, and I watched from the desk. When the quiz was over, we listened to Mr. Weitzel talk about 1984 a book about Big Brother. That class made me sleepy, and it was time for my nap, so I fell asleep. The bell rang again and we went to Mr. Richard’s class so Mommy could work as a T.A. I finally met auntie Cherry, who supposedly, might steal me one day…she’s a year younger than Mommy, and she and Mommy laugh a lot. Mommy graded papers and I fell asleep on her lap while listening and learning about Muhammad and his life. 5th period brought Religion for Mommy with Mr. Jones. We learned from other students who were doing teaching presentations. The room was dark, and I was tired, so I fell asleep. Then it was lunch time! Auntie Cherry and Mommy ate together in the gym(it was loud and noisy) and they talked about how weird it is that they’re growing up. Unfortunately, lunch was short, and we had to go to economics. I don’t understand anything in that class! But we got to watch a movie about Dave Thomas, the owner of Wendy’s. Mommy says that I can’t eat Wendy’s food for a couple years. What is a hamburger and frosty anyways? It stopped raining, but there was mass confusion as to whether softball practice was on or not. Mommy, me, and auntie Cherry went to the office, and then the stinky locker room so Mommy could put on her softball clothes. We finally got to go outside! I sat in a safe spot while Mommy practiced. She didn’t hit very well, but she bunted good. At 4:10 we ran to Mommy’s Chapel Team meeting where we sat until 5. I hope the chapel goes well. After Chapel Team, we finally went home. Mommy put me down on her bed so I could sleep. I slept until she woke me up to figure out what I was going to wear tomorrow, and I was hungry so I ate. I would have stayed awake, but I was tired. Going to school and learning is hard work! Mommy seemed kind of tired too, but she still had lots to do. So, she put me back on the bed and I fell asleep. Tomorrow, I hear we’re going on a bus, to Ontario…which is an hour away! I wonder what a bus is like!
