I feel so boring lately. It feels like all I do is go to work and kettlebells and hang out at home. I did make it to see Date Night. Tracy was supposed to go with me but the day we were going to go I managed to acquire a case of food poisoning so sitting upright was a challenge for me. But it was pretty good. Worth the afternoon to watch it. And since I went during the week the theatre was nice and quiet.

My dad has constructed me some new gardens for the summer. An innocent question about a rototiller had him carry on about how he didn't think that my veggie garden was getting enough sun so that I should move it. And then he volunteered to spend his entire Saturday digging up the sod and clay and hauling it away. Only to replace it with topsoil. So now I have lovely new gardens. Only we had a repeat of winter so I can't do anything with them. Other than admire my poor tulips. Which I hope survive the heavy, wet snow. I have plans on buying plants on my vacation. It'll be a good way to spend a few days.

Am still debating if I am off to see Jen Lancaster this year. Tracy and I studied her schedule and decided that the best, probably only, day that worked would be if we did Chicago. It was the only destination that was at a good time work wise and distance. So I made sure to book off the time and thought it was all good. Except Tracy didn't book the time off. And has an audit scheduled so she can't go. She keeps muttering something about me changing my vacation time. But I don't think it will fly having two weeks of vacation with a week of work inbetween. Not to mention that we discussed the day and that it worked out the best. So I am now deciding if I want to go for a long weekend, either by myself or with my mom. I'm reluctant to go with my mom again as Hawaii was a little bit trying with her. She smokes, she snores, and she daudles. And it drives me nuts. But it seems sad to have the time off and not go. And maybe I could even get in a little bit of shopping while I am there...

But I do have Jen's new book, which I am enjoying. I'm trying to savor the book so that I can enjoy it over a few days, but so far it isn't really working.

it's alive and pretty, movie theatre time!, jen awesomeness
