Going to the gym is like a study of man in his natural habitat. While you're in one place, biking, running, whatever, you can't help but notice the people around you and their little quirks. Or the seemingly endless number of people that adhere to stereotypes, whether they're conscious of it or not. I've found some fairly prominent ones. For example:
wears make-up to the gym girl: You've seen her. She's the one wearing the skintight shirt and yogapants who never seems to actually exercize. Rather, she walks up to all the men lifting weights and compliments them on their form, clearly looking for a date.
or
"I think I'm awesome" guy: he comes in a variety of shapes and sizes. Some are tall and muscular. Others and short and chubby. Either way, you catch them flexing their muscles in the mirrors, using the heaviest weights, and generally talking to "wears make-up" girl. He's overwhelmingly arrogant and probably has a very small penis.
then there's unneccessarily naked old woman (or man): The one oldest, wrinkliest person in the locker room who is always naked. For no reason. Just walks around naked for all to see. Apparently completely undaunted by public nudity.
and older-man-who-is-so-freaking-fit-that-he-makes-all-us-younger-kids-feel-like-we've-done-nothing-with-our-lives: self-explanatory.
And many, many more.
