The issue I would very raise is.....
It's funny how one little misplaced word can have such a profound impact on my future.
I didn't realize it before. I sent in the application thinking it was perfect. Then later I lazily went back through to see if I could salvage anything for another essay. Then I saw it, glaring it me. This tiny mistake. This imperfection, shouting to the world that I am not the perfect student. Not the perfect individual they're looking for.
All because when I went back through my essay, I took out "much like to" and forgot the fucking very.
I realize I'm probably overreacting, that its just a typo, a silly little error. But its enough. Enough to make them second-guess me. Enough to get that thin letter.
I hate this stupid process. It's a fucking popularity contest. It's how many legacies do you have. How much money can you give the school? What is your SAT score? Do you need financial aid?
It's not based on merit anymore. That's why so many clearly talented individuals are getting turned down. And that's depressing.
I think there should be a college sorting hat. You put it on, it tells you where to go and that's that. None of this "TAKE ME PLEASE" bullshit. It's groveling. I hate it. I don't like being subject to the likes and dislikes college admissions officers.
And I still have 3 apps.
