i don't think that "after a time, people will inevitably grow apart" ...

i think that someone who is limited to only being happy with ONE person the rest of their lives, will inevitably grow sick of the arrangement and want to be happy with someone ELSE for a change... (not necassarily without the person their with, either)

it's not the constantly being with someone i see a problem with... it's the fact of ONLY being able to be with that person that seems problematic

it just seems like you're putting a limit on your own happiness in this world, which seems stupid... it's like paying out the ass for cable service and 837638276 channels, but only watching one of them... or turning down jobs that pay more because it would be "too much" money... i mean why limit yourself like that, it makes no sense

thats why so many people have friends that last so long... friends don't care who else you're friends with, within reason... friends don't expect you to ONLY be friends with them... friends can live together and do everything together 24/7, and then each go off on their own and hardly talk, and then walk back in like they were never gone

You should definitely read "The Four Loves" by C.S. Lewis.

He talks about friendship, relationships, lust, etc. It's really interesting.

And at any rate ... suffice it to say that we shall "agree to disagree," yet again ... because I think happiness IS being with one person. That's how I operate, anyway.

We're so different and yet so alike ... it's comical. ;-)
