「おねえちゃん、あのね...」

Just finished the last episode of Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. From the beginning until the end, I had tears streaming down my face constantly. Stuffy nose ftw too.

The series played human emotions very well; amidst the mix of humour and brattiness there is always something lurking around the corner, whether that be suspense, anxiety, fear, or, in the case of the last two episodes, heart-wrenching-and-stopping sadness. Because yes, this is what the show is about - real life, growing up, and it's a shame there are many people out there who do not appreciate this type of anime.

The only issue I had with the last episode was when the whole family was in the hospital, before the fade-out to the "one month later." A little awkward, I found that.

Yuuki-kun. T_T At first I thought TM8.0 was going to get a happy ending - and then bones threw me in a loop with episode 10 and I went asdlkfjq;2iej!!! But I would like this ending over a happy one anyway - more realistic, and angstrealism makes me happy.

Not to mention, the background music for the last episode was awesome. Very cutting, in the emotional sense.

Now I want to rewatch it and look for things I might have missed--

I highly recommend watching this (only 11 episodes, for those who are also very busy with life like school right now), but have a box of tissue ready. The entire show is slow-paced, making through one obstacle at a time, and I know there are people who prefer the fast-paced kind. But I think it will be worth it. (Admittedly, there were probably one or two episodes near the beginning that I wasn't too interested in.) Also, it doesn't take too much to make me cry, but I haven't encountered anything that can make me do so for the entire duration.

Am happy that Anime Club is playing it this semester. Very approved. <3
